3 tips to using Bioidentical Estrogen (Biest) Cream

Estrogens are what make a woman a woman

There are several different types of estrogens. There is estrone, otherwise known as E1. There is estridiol, known as E2. Then there is estriol, known as E3.

Estrone actually becomes the dominant hormone as a woman ages. The reason being is that fat makes estrone, and we all know that Americans usually have way to much of that. Another reason is that estrone is converted into a form of itself that is stored.

Estradiol is the Incredible Hulk when it comes to the estrogens. It is 10 times more potent than estrone and 80 times more potent than estriol. As estradiol becomes deficient, menopause occurs. Once estradiol starts to decrease, aging starts to accelerate. Higher levels of estradiol that are balanced with the other two sex hormones keeps a woman feminine. It makes the hair and skin youthful. It is what makes women soft and curvaceous. Deficient estradiol causes roundness, wrinkles, low energy and loss of that youthful zest. The symptoms that women complain about the most when estadiol becomes deficient are hot flashes and night sweats.

Estriol is the weakest of the three estrogens. It is the estrogen that keeps the vagina youthful. When estriol becomes deficient the vaginal wall becomes thin. This causes pain on intercourse. This epithelial thinning also causes menopausal incontinence-small amounts of urnine will be expelled upon sneezing and coughing . The symptom that women complain about the most when estriol is deficient is vaginal dryness.

Estrogen Dominance

As men and women age the conversion of testosterone and progesterone to estrogens becomes a problem. Estrogen becomes the dominant hormone. Testosterone and progesterone are converted into estrogen by an enzyme in fat cells. Estrogen is a fat storing hormone. Progesterone and testosterone are fat burning hormones. The more dominant estrogen becomes the more fat that is stored. At the same time, there is less and less of the fat burning hormones, testosterone and progesterone. Estrogen, fat storing becomes dominant. Testosterone and progesterone, fat burning becomes subordinant. This imbalance of hormones causes a condition called weight loss resistance. Weight Loss Resistance is defined as the inability to lose weight no matter what you do. You join the gym, cut your calories and you gain two pounds.

How to Dose Bioidentical Estrogens

In the beginning of bioidentical hormone therapy, anti-aging physicians use to prescribe a cream that combined all three estrogens. Once it was discovered that the body had to much estrone, we took the estrone component out of the prescription. The compounded cream that was used in the beginning was called tri-est.

The Mac Protocol believes that the best dosing of bioidentical hormones is to start with very low doses. After a month reevaluate the symptoms. The dosing will stay the same if positive results are occurring. If certain symptoms are unaffected than the dosing will be adjusted for your bio-individuality. We have found that a majority of the low estrogen symptoms are relieved with a fifth of the normal dose used by conventional medicine. We have also found that by using small doses, the body's internal resourcing of hormones are stimulated instead of being shut down.

The Mac Protocol believes that hormone therapy should be the used as a primer. Hormones should be used to start the engine, not as the fuel to keep the the engine running. Once our hormones increase, we become more active. We start doing an old hobby, like gardening. This will increase our hormones naturally. We then start going to the gym, hormones increase even more, then we start riding a bike, more natural hormonal increases, than we start making love more often, even higher hormone levels.

We recommend to start with a foundation month, a month of introducing low doses. Most patients begin with a dose of 1 mg of biest in a combination of E2 and E3. The percentage is 20% estradiol, (E2), and 80% estriol, (E3). This small dose will usually handle hot flashes, night sweats and vaginal aging.

The cream is to be applied to thin skin. We usually recommend to apply the cream to your inner arms than rotate to inner thighs after a few months than rotate back to the inner arms. Use the creams after bath so the pores are opened and the cream will be easily absorbed. Rub the creams back and forth at least ten times. Do not swim or bathe again for at least two hours after application.

The 3 Secrets to Bioidentical Hormone Estrogen

  1. Use low doses
  2. Start at a combination of 20% E2 and 80% E3
  3. Apply the cream after bath on thin skin
